A woman from Sibiu is accused of killing her mother for inheritance with the help of a nurse, who procured and administered a sedative to the victim to cause her death, according to News.ro. To make sure, the two women suffocated the victim with a pillow, prosecutors say.

The representatives of the Public Prosecutor's Office attached to the Sibiu Court announced on Saturday that two women were detained for aggravated murder and will be presented to the court with a proposal for preventive arrest.

The crime was committed last year, according to the prosecutors who made the case,

“During June 2024, after having premeditated the act for a long time, a 38-year-old female person, benefiting from the help of a 46-year-old nurse, who procured her a large amount of substances with a sedative effect, slipped the substances into her mother's tea that she was consuming. The act took place at her home in Sibiu. After the victim, 59 years old, fell asleep, the author called the nurse who was waiting for her, and then injected another amount of a substance with a strong sedative effect into the victim's leg, sufficient to cause her death. Later, wanting to be sure of the victim's death, the two suffocated her with a pillow”, informed the prosecutors in Sibiu.

According to the same source, after her mother's death, her daughter took possession of the inherited goods, which she sold, and later moved to Dubai.

The woman returned to Sibiu during this period, to sell a house, at which time she was caught by investigators, according to TVR.

According to the cited source, the nurse is employed by a public hospital in Sibiu County.

The prosecutors also mentioned that “circumstances were found that qualify the crime of murder, premeditation and committing the act for material interest”, considering that the alleged crime was committed in order for “the defendant to take possession of the inheritance left by the victim”.
