Russia deploys missiles in Belarus. “Extends the reach”

The agency referred to the findings of two American scientists who analyzed satellite images. Jeffrey Lewis of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in California and Decker Eveleth of the CNA analytical organization in Virginia determined that the missiles would be deployed near Krzyczewo in eastern Belarus, about 300 km east of the country's capital, Minsk.
According to Reuters, which cites its sources, the scientists' findings are consistent with the findings of American intelligence.

Putin wants to expand his reach
The Oreshnik medium-range hypersonic ballistic missile (5,500 km) was first used in hostilities in November last year to attack the Ukrainian city of Dnipro.
As Reuters recalled, after a meeting in December 2024 with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, Putin said that Oreshnik could be deployed to Belarus in the second half of this year.
Lukashenko said last week that the first missiles had been deployed, but did not specify the location. He added that up to 10 Oreshnik launchers will be deployed in Belarus.
— Putin plans to deploy these weapons in Belarus to extend their reach to Europe, said John Foreman from the British think tank Chatham House, quoted by the agency.
According to American scientists cited by the agency, the base in eastern Belarus can accommodate only three launchers; the rest can be deployed in another location.
