China left a heart-shaped message for Taiwan during military exercises
On social media, the image was compared to sexualized harassment and partner abuse.
A satellite image of the island, with a line of arrows going around it in the shape of a heart, has gone viral online. The inscription on it reads: “Hello my love” and “Patrol in the form of love for you,” The Guardian reports.
Taiwan Coast Guard officials condemned the image, calling it an example of cognitive warfare and bullying. On social networks, the illustration was considered “creepy”; in the comments, people left emojis with the face of a person vomiting, the newspaper writes.
