On Wednesday morning, the Goniec.pl portal reported that the current Polish ambassador to France Jan R., former PiS parliamentarian Maks K. and banker Paweł P. were detained by CBA officers in connection with false study completion certificates. According to the portal, the services' activities were to end on Wednesday morning after interrogations and confrontations in the Silesian Branch of the Department of Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Katowice.

PAP asked for a comment on the matter of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman. – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not comment on the activities of the services or the justice system. The ambassador began his mission in spring 2022. Due to the situation, he placed himself at the minister's disposal. Minister Radosław Sikorski decided to release the ambassador from managing the facility until all doubts are clarified, Wewiór said.

He added that currently the mission in France will be headed by the deputy head of the mission, titular ambassador Wiesław Tarka. – He is a very experienced diplomat – emphasized the spokesman of the Ministry of Diplomacy.

As reported by Goniec.pl, the investigation concerns the practice of obtaining MBA diplomas at the Management Academy of Applied Sciences, then headed by Paweł C., who is currently one of the suspects in the Collegium Humanum case as the former rector of this university. False certificates of completion of MBA, bachelor's and master's studies were allegedly used to obtain positions on supervisory boards of State Treasury companies.

PAP asked about the case of attorney Ryszard Kalisz, Paweł C's defense lawyer. – The people detained on December 22 and 23 (Jan R., Maks K., Paweł P. – PAP) are related to the thread being conducted by the National Prosecutor's Office, branch office in Katowice, in the case regarding Collegium Humanum, but with the thread regarding PKO BP – he explained. Kalisz confirmed that Paweł C. had confrontations with the detained people. He emphasized that Jan R., Maks K. and Paweł P. constituted “the bank's top management, and all of them were nominated by PiS.”

PAP asked the National Prosecutor's Office about the activities carried out in Katowice. As answered by prosecutor Katarzyna Calów-Jaszewska from the PK press department, all information on the case will be provided after Christmas.

According to the portal, Jan R. was supposed to obtain an MBA diploma despite not having completed his studies. “In his case, the prosecutor's office is focusing on the use of an MBA diploma, which was issued despite the lack of real studies and used in the process of taking up positions in State Treasury companies, including the supervisory board of Bank Pocztowy, owned by Poczta Polska.. The ambassador pleaded not guilty and was to hear several charges, including using a forged document,” we read.

The portal reported that Jan R. was detained on Tuesday at the Chopin airport in Warsaw and then transported to Katowice to provide explanations and take part in the confrontation. According to Goniec's sources, the activities with the ambassador's participation ended on Wednesday around 4 a.m. The article also shows that Maks K. and Paweł P. were detained on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, and were also transported to Katowice.
