December 23, 1934

Based on materials from the archive, in accordance with the resolution of the organizational bureau of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks of the Jewish Autonomous Region dated December 23, 1934, a regional military commissariat was created.

December 23, 1935

According to the State Archives of the Jewish Autonomous Region, on December 23, 1935, the state automobile inspection for the Jewish Autonomous Region was formed (now the department of the state road safety inspection of the Department of Internal Affairs for the Jewish Autonomous Region.

Streltsy outposts on the city outskirts can be considered the predecessors of the State Traffic Inspectorate as a road law enforcement structure. Later – units of police officers, then the police of the first years of Soviet power, who were charged with monitoring the traffic order.

Urban traffic regulation departments (URGD) were created under local authorities, then traffic regulation departments (divisions) (ORUD), which later became part of the Workers' and Peasants' Militia of the NKVD. ORUD remained as a separate unit until the 1950s.

December 23, 1948

The plenum of the regional committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks discussed the state of and measures to improve the organization of party education in the regional party organization. It was noted that in the current academic year there are 107 circles for studying the history of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks and 148 political schools in the region. There were 150 students studying at the evening university of Marxism-Leninism at the Birobidzhan city committee of the CPSU(b). 900 communists independently studied the history and theory of Bolshevism. In order to assist activists in independently studying Marxist-Leninist theory, theoretical seminars have been created at the city and district committees of the CPSU(b).

December 23, 1976

For the outstanding successes achieved in the All-Union Socialist Competition and the demonstrated labor valor in fulfilling plans and socialist obligations to increase the production and sale of grain and other agricultural products to the state in 1976, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor to M.P. Brakhmanova, leader of the collective farm “Zavety Ilyich” in the Birobidzhan region.

December 23, 1977

The Bureau of the Regional Committee of the CPSU and the Executive Committee of the Regional Council of People's Deputies adopted a resolution “On the construction of a monument to V.I. Lenin and the construction of a square named after him in the city of Birobidzhan.” The creation of the monument was entrusted to Academician of the USSR Academy of Arts, People's Artist of the USSR L. E. Kerbel and architect L. V. Misozhnikov.

December 23, 2010

By decision of the City Duma of the municipal formation “City of Birobidzhan” dated December 23, 2010 No. 437, the highway of the city district was given the name Igor Petrenko Street. The street has an address reference: 22 meters south from house number 22 on the street. Karl-Marx.

The street is named after the major, senior detective of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Jewish Autonomous Region, who tragically died in the Chechen Republic on March 10, 2005. As part of the operational combat department of the SOBR UBOP under the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Jewish Autonomous Region, Igor Anatolyevich was sent to the Chechen Republic six times to carry out tasks to eliminate illegal armed groups. For high personal performance, courage and bravery shown in the performance of official duty, he was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree, “For Courage”, “For Distinction in the Protection of Public Order”. By decree of the President of the Russian Federation of February 11, 2006, the officer was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.
