The start of 2026 is expected to be a difficult one for FCSB.
January, hard month for FCSB
Although the start of the new season was a difficult one for FCSB, the Romanian champion recovered towards the end of the year, managing to end 2025 with 3 victories in a row. The team coached by Elias Charalambous ended the year in 9th place with 31 points, 2 away from the play-offs.
The victory in the derby with Rapid boosted the morale of the champions' players, who will start the new year with very important matches. At the beginning of the year, FCSB will conduct the winter camp in Turkey, where they will play a training match against Beşiktaş. Upon returning to the country, things get complicated for Charalambous' students.
On January 16, FCSB will go to Mioveni to play FC Argeș, one of the revelations of this season in the Super League, but also one of the teams with which they are fighting for a place in the play-offs. In less than a week from this game, the champion will go to Zagreb for the duel with Dinamo, a match that can be decisive for the qualification in the elimination phase of the Europa League.
After the two away matches, two more tough matches await FCSB, but at home. With CFR Cluj in the championship, respectively with Fenerbahce in the Europa League. Although CFR started the season poorly, Daniel Pancu's team is showing signs of recovery, even after defeating FC Botoșani away from home.
THE PROGRAM FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY:
-
FC Arges – FCSB, January 16
-
Dinamo Zagreb – FCSB, January 22
-
FCSB – CFR Cluj, January 25
-
FCSB – Fenerbahce, January 29
Thus, FCSB will play 2 games with teams that are fighting for a place in the play-offs, but also with two teams that are in the race for qualification in the knockout phase of the Europa League.
