One of the companies that provides official deliveries of Apple to Ukraine is ASBIS. As the publication writes, she has Belarusian roots and even after February 24, 2022, she continues to work in Russia and Belarus, paying taxes there.
According to journalists, only about 10% of iPhones were imported by the ASBIS company “in white”, the rest were delivered “in black” by shipping from the Czech Republic. At the same time, the company was actively building a network in the Russian Federation: it had offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Kazan, as well as subsidiary structures, thanks to which Apple's sales in Russia increased several times.
The key owner of the company is Serhiy Kostevych, who controls more than a third of the business through the Cypriot KS Holdings Ltd. In 2024, ASBIS continued to cooperate with Sberbank, Alfa Bank and Zenit.
According to the expert, Ukrainians actually buy iPhones from a company that simultaneously pays taxes to the budget of the aggressor country. In his opinion, this situation requires the reaction of the relevant state authorities.
