Representatives of the Russian figure skating school could have been on board the crashed airliner, says sports agent Ari Zakarian.
An American Airlines flight from Wichita, Kansas, was the only flight heading to the East Coast that day. The city has just finished a figure skating championship. There could have been several skaters and their coaches on board. One of the athletes miraculously survived – John Maravilla was not allowed on the plane. He wrote about this on social networks and drove to Kansas by car.
