According to journalist Matteo Moretto, Levante contacted the Spaniard a few days ago, considering him the perfect replacement for Julian Calero on the club's technical bench, but he refused the offer proposed by “Granotes”, currently preferring to stay with Hansi Flick at Barcelona.

The club from Valencia has big problems this season. At the moment, “los azulgranas” occupy the last position in the La Liga standings, with only nine points accumulated in the first 15 matches.

According to reports in the Iberian press, it seems that president Pablo Sanchez is the one who would have preferred Thiago as Levante's next permanent coach, on the grounds that the former “La Roja” international is a charismatic guy and a great connoisseur of Spanish football – two qualities that a club in such a situation badly needs.
Also, the fact that he is still extremely young could have made him integrate extremely quickly among his pupils, but in the end the former Barcelona, Bayern and Liverpool footballer decided to call it quits.

Later, the Spaniard also participated in other courses dedicated to the coaching profession, and starting from 2025, Thiago returned to the court of the Blaugrana formation, entering the staff of Hansi Flick, where he is mainly responsible for the training of young players who make the step to the “big team”.
