Road traffic is completely stopped on DN7 Râmnicu Vâlcea – Sibiu, at kilometer 199, outside the city of Călimănești, after a tanker overturned and gas leaks from the flammable cargo were reported.

Extensive intervention of the fire brigade

The Valcen military firefighters were urgently requested to manage the situation. Crews from the Râmnicu Vâlcea and Brezoi Fire Station arrived at the scene, with two water and foam extinguishing vehicles, a rapid intervention vehicle, a SMURD ambulance and a CBRN vehicle. Volunteer firefighters from Călimănești, traffic police crews and National Roads teams also intervene.

Arriving at the scene of the intervention, the firefighters found that there were gas leaks from the tanker truck, meaning that a safety perimeter was created within a radius of 500 square meters. Firefighters act with a spray jet on the upper part of the tank“, said the spokesperson of ISU Vâlcea, Sorin Albinaru.
