Peter Szijjarto goes to Moscow. “We have to fight Brussels and Kiev”

“We have finished in Istanbul, we are going to Moscow,” the head of Hungarian diplomacy wrote on Facebook. “After the war ends, the world economy will be able to return to normal and there will be huge new opportunities in international trade relations,” Szijjarto said.
The minister added that “sanctions will not always accompany us, so we must be ready to take a good starting position in the new period.” That's why – he added – he is going to Moscow with a “large business delegation”.

“We have to fight Brussels and Kiev”
In a recording posted online, Szijjarto recalled that the Hungarian government “agreed in Washington that there are no legal obstacles to the purchase of Russian oil and gas, in Moscow that energy will be supplied, and in Istanbul that the transport route is safe.”
— Now we have to fight with Brussels and Kiev to make our energy supplies truly safe, added the Hungarian minister.
After a conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul on Monday, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced that he had received an assurance from him that Ankara would guarantee the security of further supplies of Russian energy resources to Hungary.
Most of the gas imported to Hungary comes from Russia and is transported via the TurkStream pipeline across the Black Sea, followed by its extension, the Balkan Stream pipeline, which runs through Bulgaria and Serbia. The pipeline, put into operation in 2020, was part of Russia's efforts to bypass Ukraine, which previously served as the main route for Russian gas to Europe.
