The alderman from Sector 6, Ciprian Ciucu, who won the race for the Capital City Hall in the local elections, sent a message on the night of Sunday to Monday, thanking those who supported him. Liberul stated that he will continue to run the sector mayor's office until he takes the oath of general mayor of Bucharest.

“I also thank those who believed in me and supported me! I thank Mr. President Ilie Bolojan, Vlad Gheorghe for the support, my colleagues from REPER, Dragoș Pîslaru, but also Ludovic Orban. And my whole loving team,” wrote Ciucu, in the message published on his Facebook page, around 00:47.

“I will work hard for the project of my life: Bucharest put in place, for the next 10 years. Next to you, my dears! Tomorrow morning I will be at the City Hall of Sector 6”, the mayor continued.

“I'm going back to work until I'm sworn in. You've made my best dream come true,” the liberal added.

After counting 1,288 minutes from the total number of 1,289 (ie 99.92%), Ciprian Ciucu obtained 211,471 votes, ie 36.17% of the votes cast from Sunday's elections.

The candidate ranked second, Anca Alexandrescu, supported by AUR, obtained 21.94%.

The PSD candidate, Daniel Băluţă, came in third place, with 20.50%, and the USR candidate, Cătălin Drula, in fourth place, with 13.9%.

Ciprian Ciucu won the vote in five of the six sectors of the Capital.

Voter turnout at Sunday's election was 32.71%.
