The United States and Romania share a solid and developing partnership, built on common strategic interests in the field of security, energy cooperation and trade,” Rubio said in his message for Romania's National Day.
He also expressed his appreciation for “the regional leadership of Romania and we encourage you to continue to play a role in promoting stability in the Black Sea region”.
“Romania's commitment to allocate 5% of GDP to defense by 2035 will strengthen NATO and lay the foundations for increased prosperity in the years to come. The United States looks forward to continued defense cooperation, as well as the development of trade and investments that benefit both our nations,” Rubio concluded.
