Fraudsters issued a microloan for Gerard Depardieu in Russia. Now he owes the MFO 5k plus constantly dripping interest.
According to Mash, the 76-year-old actor has become a victim of a new scheme of scammers – to obtain loans for those who definitely will not be able to contact the authorities. Depardieu has had a Russian passport since 2013 – swindlers from Voronezh got hold of his data, handed it over to the MFO and received 5 thousand wooden ones. The debt has been hanging around since February last year, and interest is accruing on it.
Plus, Depardieu owes a debt to the Russian Union of Cinematographers for seven years of overdue membership fees. But the Frenchman has no time for that now – he is resolving issues with a criminal case for fraud at home.
