Dino under pressure from trade unionists. “Does not pay benefits”


According to OPZZ Confederation of Labor, Dino Polska does not fulfill the obligation to pay benefits from the Social Fund, which is contrary to labor law provisions – write “Wiadomości Handlowe”. Trade unionists emphasize that the lack of social benefits is inconsistent with the employer's statutory obligations towards its employees.
OPZZ Konfederacja Pracy operates in many retail chains, such as Kaufland, Biedronka, Dino, ALDI and Rossmann. The organization demands clear answers from Dino Polska and talks about compliance with employee rights.

The OPZZ letter indicated two main topics of conversation:
- issues related to the Company Social Benefits Fund,
- matters related to working conditions and the operation of the company.
Trade unionists emphasize the need for an urgent meeting and explanation of why employees of the Dino network do not use the Social Benefits Fund, even though – in accordance with the regulations – the fund should be created in every company employing at least 50 people.
For employees, the operation of this fund is really “visible” at the time of holiday benefits, e.g. parcels or shopping vouchers, but also subsidies for recreation, mainly the so-called holidays under the pear tree.
Dino is one of the fastest growing retail chains in Poland. Since the beginning of the year, it has opened 245 new stores and at the end of September there were already 2,933 of them and this number is systematically approaching Biedronkawhich had 3,829 supermarkets at that time. Employs 50 thousand people and doesn't pay them much because the average salary in 2024 was less than PLN 5,000. PLN gross with the then minimum wage of PLN 4.2 thousand. PLN gross.
In the first three quarters of this year. the company earned PLN 1 billion 181 million net compared to PLN 1 billion 81 million a year earlier. The growth dynamics and profits resulted in an increase in the shares and value of the company, which currently ranks ninth on the stock exchange with a capitalization of PLN 41.2 billion.
