Real Madrid committed a painful blunder and quickly apologized. The Spanish club play Elche in La Liga on Sunday night and have prepared a special pre-match tribute to Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva. In the video, however, the wrong Andre Silva was used, coincidentally from their future opponent, Elche.

The “Galacticians” came up with a statement in which they apologized for the blunder.

“We regret this incident”

Real Madrid made a tribute video but mistakenly used the image of Elche striker Andre da Silva instead of Andre Silva. The latter is the brother of Liverpool player Diogo Jota. Both died last summer in a car accident. The entire world of football was deeply mourned, and in Liverpool, under the leadership of the Dutch coach Arne Slot, the trauma is still felt. All the more painful, therefore, is the mistake of those from Real Madrid.

The Madrid players presented their apologies through a statement posted on X.

Real Madrid CF apologizes to the club Elche CF and its player Andre da Silva for the accidental inclusion of his image in an institutional video, instead of that of Andre Silva, brother of Liverpool player Diogo Jota. We regret this incident,” the Spanish club announced in an official statement on Sunday afternoon.
