Shining windows for the New Year: choose 1 super method – and no divorces all January

If you want to celebrate the New Year in a bright, clean house and keep it clean until Epiphany frosts, forget about chemicals and paper towels. There are five simple tricks that work better than any spray.

If you want every snowflake to be visible outside the window, and not a cloudy haze, start with the main thing: do not wash the dirt with water. First, wipe the glass with a dry cotton rag or an old T-shirt. This way you will remove dust without smearing it on the glass.

Instead of sponges and paper towels, use microfiber or soft cotton cloth. It does not leave lint and does not scratch the glass, even if it already has small scratches.

Change the water in the bucket every two windows. If the water becomes cloudy, then it no longer washes, but simply transfers dirt from place to place.

Instead of store-bought products, prepare a homemade solution:

  • for double-glazed windows: 1 tbsp. l. vinegar + 1 tsp. starch per 1 liter of warm water,
  • for mirrors: 2 tbsp. l. medical alcohol + 1 tbsp. l. liquid soap per 1 liter of water.

Starch creates a light protective film, and alcohol evaporates instantly.

And wash in two stages:

  • remove stains and fingerprints with the first pass,
  • second, go over with a clean damp cloth from top to bottom,
  • finish with a dry microfiber and the glass will shine like the best hotel.

In just an hour, your home will be filled with light. And when guests come to Olivier, they will admire not only the herring, but also the view outside the window.
