“I met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha and my G7 counterparts to discuss ways to strengthen Ukraine's defense and end this bloody conflict,” Rubio wrote on Platform X. The foreign ministers met during the G7 session in Canada.
“The United States continues to work steadfastly with our partners to encourage Russia to engage diplomatically and engage directly with Ukraine toward long-term and lasting peace.” – he added.
Sybiha, for its part, wrote on X that Ukraine appreciates the actions taken by US President Donald Trump for peace and the very effective energy sanctions imposed on Russia.

Sybiha said he also briefed Rubio on the current situation on the battlefield, peace-building efforts and priorities for strengthening Ukraine's defense and energy resilience.
