A man on social networks offered jobs to Ukrainian women and then took out loans for them – police


On a popular dating site, the man met girls, chatted, used a false name, and subsequently offered a part-time job, the report says. It was necessary to fulfill a simple condition – install a banking application on the phone, go through verification and open an account using the defendant’s email, police note.

“At every stage, the man controlled the actions of the victims – from installing the application to opening a bank account. His goal was to gain access to personal data and apply for online loans in the name of women. The total amount of fraudulently obtained funds is almost 200 thousand UAH. Currently, two victims are known,” the press service said.

The man has already been informed of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud). He faces up to eight years in prison. The pre-trial investigation continues.
