SuperLiga: Farul Constanța ended the championship leader's 13-match unbeaten streak

Farul Constanța defeated the leader of the Football Superleague, FC Botoşani, with a score of 2-0 (2-0), on Friday evening, at home, in Ovidiu, in a match of the 16th stage, the first of the return leg.

The Constantinians opened the scoring through Ionuț Vînă (5), with a superb execution, directly into the box, from the edge of the box. Farului's second goal was scored at the end of the first half, by Ionuț Larie (45+2 – penalty), after Senegalese defender Djibril Diaw fouled Vînă. The penalty kick was awarded after consulting the video referee, informs Agerpres.

FC Botoșani played in numerical inferiority from min. 37, when the Nigerian defender Friday Adams was eliminated for a foul in the position of the last defender on Alexandru Ișfan.

Farul also had opportunities to score through Ișfan (47), Narek Grigorian (61, 90+2), Răzvan Tănasă (65), each time goalkeeper Giannis Anestis intervened.

The guests missed through Ștefan Bodișteanu (1), Charles Petro (36 in two rows), goalkeeper Alexandru Buzbuchi being providential. Mihai Bordeianu (88) missed the honor goal, after a wrong pass by Bogdan Tîru.

In the round, the score was equal, 1-1.

Farul is unbeaten in four rounds, in which it has one draw and three wins.

FC Botoșani ended a streak of 13 matches without defeat in Ovidiu, 11 of which were in the championship (eight wins, three draws).
