Lamine Yamal (18) has spoken about the problems he has faced recently and claims that many “lies” have been circulating about his injury.
On Wednesday he was chosen “man of the match” in spectacular draw, score 3-3achieved by Barcelona against Club Brugge in the Champions League, where the Catalans came back three times.
The Spaniard missed seven games for club and country at the start of the season due to a groin injury. Some reports even suggested he might have required surgery, but he has since started Barcelona's last five games.
Lamine Yamal raged after the match with Brugge: “Everything that was written about my injury was a lie”
Hansi Flick, the head coach of Barcelona, believes that this is a problem that Yamal needs to manage further. However, in the match against Brugge, the right winger showed no sign of discomfort: he scored a spectacular goal and contributed decisively to the last one.
“I'm fine, I'm trying not to read the news. There was a lot of talk about my injury, pubalgia and the fact that I was sad. These were all lies. I wanted to work hard to get back to this level, because that's when I feel the best and enjoy the game the most,” the Barcelona striker told journalists after the match.

Hansi Flick: “I'm happy for Yamal, but the most important thing is that he manages this situation”
At the Jan Breydel Stadium, Barca took the lead three times in this match but managed to equalize each time thanks to goals from Ferran Torres, Yamal and an own goal from Christos Tzolis.
“I'm glad that Lamine is back at this level, but like I said, we don't know what tomorrow holds and we don't know what's going to happen next Sunday. The most important thing is to manage this situation, because it is not easy.
He needs to focus on his tasks, training and treatments. If he does it right, hopefully the problem will go away, but in this situation it's hard to say when,” Flick told the post-match press conference.

Lamine Yamal, after the goal against Brugge: “I can't compare with Messi”
After Yamal's goal, many compared him to Barcelona legend Leo Messi, who currently plays for Inter Miami, but Lamine tried to avoid those comparisons.
“I cannot compare myself to Messi, he has scored thousands of such goals. I have to follow my own path and I hope to score many more similar goals,” explained the 18-year-old footballer.
