Bernie Ecclestone, the former boss of Formula 1, harshly criticized Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, in an interview given to the international press.
For the former Formula 1 boss, Hamilton is “a financial marketing product” at Scuderia Ferrari. Bernie Ecclestone did not expect the Briton to encounter so many difficulties at the Italian team.

“The situation is getting out of his control. He wanted to be champion and now he doesn't stop being surprised that he doesn't succeed. It's just a product of financial marketing. In the future, he will devote himself more to things related to fashion. He is one of the best of the last ten years, but not the best of them all,” said Bernie Ecclestone, according to abola.pt.
The former Formula 1 boss also criticized Ferrari, especially team boss Fred Vasseur: “They need an authoritarian leader to be successful. Ferrari doesn't speak Italian, they speak 'Ferrarian'. It's a country where everyone gives their opinion and interferes. They decide what's right and what's wrong. Vasseur is too weak,” added the former Formula 1 boss.
Lewis Hamilton has had a season to forget this year. The Brit managed to collect only 146 points and is 6th in the overall drivers' standings. His teammate, Monegasque Charles Leclerc, is in 5th place overall, with 210 accumulated points.
