Hakim Ziyech (32 years old), player recently wanted by CFR Cluj, was received as a real hero at his new club, Wydad Casablanca, last weekend. The “Wizard” finally found a team after months without a club and the fans were extremely excited.
Ziyech was officially introduced at the end of October through the social networks of the club Wydad Casablanca. The Morocco international had been without a club since July after his contract with Qatar's Al Duhail was terminated. It was discussed about a possible spectacular transfer to CFR Cluj, but the move did not materialize.
At Wydad Casablanca, Ziyech has now been given another chance, signing a contract until June 30, 2027.

The offensive midfielder was close to a transfer to CFR Cluj, a team where his former teammate from Chelsea, Kurt Zouma, ended up playing. He had reached an agreement with the Gruia team, but left knee problems and exorbitant salary demands made the deal fall through. Wydad Casablanca then decided to step in and transfer him.
For Ziyech, a Moroccan international with 64 caps, it is the first time he will play football in his native country. This generated a lot of euphoria and joy among Wydad Casablanca supporters. Ziyech was introduced to a packed stadium last weekend and the fans were in a frenzy, according to sportnieuws.nl. Born in Dronten, he was immediately acclaimed, making it clear that Wydad Casablanca supporters have high expectations of him.
Wydad Casablanca is currently third in Botola Pro 1, Morocco's first football division. The team is one point behind leaders MAS Fès, but Ziyech's side have a game in hand. It remains to be seen when the attacking midfielder will make his debut in a Wydad shirt. Ziyech is not yet eligible to play and must first wait for his clearance before he can perform for Wydad's enthusiastic fans.
