How the Dinamo derby ended

Dinamo Bucharest defeated Steaua Bucharest with a score of 19-14, in a spectacular derby contested in the Romanian Rugby Cup, played at the “Arcul de Triumf” stadium, and ends the first phase of the competition in first place in the group.
Despite being outnumbered four times, the students coached by Carl Hogg (56) dominated the game from end to end, winning by just 5 points.

Dylan Schwartz was named “Player of the Match” after an outstanding performance in both phases of the game.

Dinamo started better and led 12-0 after the first 25 minutes. Steaua came back by halftime with a penalty try, but after the restart the “red dogs” broke away again, reaching 19-7.
Ionuț Donici and Ionuț Sava scored for Steaua in the end, but the scoreboard stopped at 19-14, a victory for Dinamo.
In the other game, Baia Mare started strongly, leading with 0-15. Timișoara reduced the difference until the break, score 7-17, and later came dangerously close to 14-15, at which point it benefited from numerical superiority for ten minutes.
The hosts failed to capitalize on this chance and the visitors scored with two penalty kicks and closed the game with two more penalties.
The match ended 14-27, another defeat for Timișoara, who will thus play the semifinals of the competition on foreign soil.
The semi-finals are coming up
In the semifinals, Dinamo will face SCM Timișoara on November 29, at the Arcul de Triumf Stadium, while Steaua will play against CSM Știința Baia Mare, away.
In the last five direct confrontations, Dinamo prevailed three times, Steaua only once, and one game ended in a draw.
