“We’ll sit down with Putin, make a decision and bang. Don’t run into trouble.” Lukashenko is expecting Oreshnik in Belarus in December

“Hazel” is a terrible weapon. “He will go on combat duty in December,” Lukashenko said during a trip to the Vitebsk region. – For what? I want them [оппоненты за рубежом] We understood that we could crash if things got bad. Here we sit with [нелегитимным российским президентом Владимиром] Putin, we’ll make a decision and bang. So don't worry. After all, the war began in Ukraine with this.”

According to Lukashenko, peace agreements were reached in the capital of Belarus at one time, but “it turns out they didn’t agree.”

“It turns out that they came to Minsk to deceive Russia and us. They deceived us. Well, they jumped through […] Well, what are you up to? We lived normally. And Poles, and Lithuanians, and so on,” he recalled.

Context

The Russian Federation first used the experimental Oreshnik medium ballistic missile with a nuclear-free hypersonic warhead to strike the Dnieper on November 21, 2024. Its development had not been reported before. According to Ukrainian intelligence, the launch was carried out from the Kedr complex, and Oreshnik was just a code. The rocket's flight time from the Astrakhan region was approximately 15 minutes.

The number of such missiles, according to Ukraine, is very limited – there is no mass production. However, Putin, on the contrary, announced alleged reserves and continuation of tests.

Lukashenko has been announcing his intentions to place Oreshnik in Belarus for a long time, but it is unknown when this will happen. Russian propagandists themselves are confused whether there is a missile complex in Belarus or not. RIA Novosti reported that Oreshnik had allegedly already been deployed in Belarus back in September.

Lukashenko's press secretary announced on October 28 that Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missiles would allegedly be put on combat duty in Belarus in December. She noted that the process of “creating conditions” for the deployment of Oreshnik in the country is being completed.
