Borussia Dortmund secured their place in the last 16 of the German Cup by beating Eintracht Frankfurt 4-2 on penalties after the score was 1-1 at the end of regular time.
Eintracht opened the scoring quickly with Knauff's goal in the 7th minute. However, Dortmund managed to equalize in the 48th minute through Brandt, sending the game into extra time.

In extra time, the score remained unchanged, so the fate of the qualification was decided in penalty kicks.
The guests proved to be more inspired, after Chaibi and Doan missed from the penalty spot, thus the “yellow-blacks” achieved victory and qualification with a final score of 4-2.

The first 8 matches of the round of 16 of the German Cup are played tonight. In the already completed games we witnessed some quite interesting confrontations. Hertha eliminated Lukas Petkov's side Elversberg with a decisive 3-0. Hamburger SV beat Heidenheim 1-0 and Holstein Kiel beat Wolfsburg away, also 1-0.
