Dozens of Russians who vacation on the coast of Fujairah have been affected by fuel oil in the Gulf of Oman. They complain of nausea, headaches and bitterness in the mouth. According to them, the hotels do not react to this in any way.
The oil spill occurred along the entire coast, with at least four hotels in the disaster area: Novotel Fujairah, Ibis Fujairah, Al Bahar and Palace Beach Resort Fujairah. Everyone blames it on a natural phenomenon and refuses to help the guests: no compensation, no examination. Guests have to move to other apartments at their own expense. Tour operators also refuse; only the travel agency remains in touch with people, which helps to file a class action lawsuit. Local beaches were closed for at least two weeks.
There is no time to clean up the oil on the coast – new spills are arriving on land. Locals prefer the port of Fujairah, which is five kilometers away. This is one of the largest fuel bunkering centers. Vessels are usually delivered there for refueling with fuel and motor oils.
