Bogdan Oancea, the director of the Corona Brașov club, claims that he applied a package of severe internal sanctions to Maxim Crișan, the coach of the junior polo team, recently involved in a monster scandal at a tournament in Tg. Mures. And he announces that he is considering closing the junior handball team due to the fanatical behavior of many of the parents!
On October 12, on the occasion of a U14 polo qualification tournament, held at Tg. Mureș, the match AMEFA Arad – Corona Brașov (10-8) ended with reprehensible incidents on the edge of the pool. The coach of the club under Tâmpa, Maxim Crișan, launched a wave of insults and threats towards the referee Adrian Cîmpeanu, whom he reproached for his performance and the fact that he would have cursed his son.
The very aggressive attitude of the technician cost him a suspension of 10 stages and a fine of 2,000 lei, sanctions dictated by the Disciplinary Commission of the federation. But it wasn't all for Crisan!
Coach Maxim Crișan, penalized: “Significant reduction of salary for two months and ultimatum”

The management of Corona also decided on a package of punishments for Maxim Crișan. Director Bogdan Oancea pointed out for GSP that “we have the most uncompromising approach to the episode from Tg. Mureș, because I never tolerate such behavior.
Therefore, Mr. Crisan has a significant reduction in salary for the next two months and an ultimatum. Depending on the decision of the Federation's Appeals Commission, we will establish new additional sanctions or not”.
He added: “It's a reprehensible case. Unfortunately, there is also a relapse on his part, from the period before my arrival at Corona, that is, February. There are many stories related to Mr. Crisan's attitude. I am not questioning his professionalism, but the fact that he is a pedagogue who still has more to learn.”
“I regret those gestures and I allowed myself to be provoked by this referee, who swore at my son. However, in general, it is about the very poor training of the referees present at that tournament, where they created a lot of tension, including among the children. For example, the team from Oradea simply withdrew from the competition, after a polo player was punched in the face in the water.
Also, with Arad, an athlete from us received a punch in the neck, a very hard blow, so that he had to be helped by his colleagues to get out of the water. The doctors intervened with the oxygen mask”, Maxim Crișan explained his actions in a statement for GSP.
We are in a mad rush for immediate performance, I mean coaches, parents, relatives, supporters. I am amazed that sometimes the frustrations and unfulfillments of adults are reflected in their behavior at a juvenile level, which I do not like at all

Bogdan Oancea, director of Corona Brașov: “I don't keep the team so that parents can fight and swear at each other”

Bogdan Oancea leads the Corona club since the beginning of this year, after the departure of Alexandru Dedu
Oancea extended the discussion from polo to the handball section: “I have the impression that we are the only club in this country whose junior matches are played without spectators. This is because, at the final tournament last year, the parents of our children did not behave properly. And the Disciplinary Commission rightly decided this sanction. I would have dictated even more than two stages behind closed doors for what happened in summer”.
And he warns: “I'm determined to cut to the flesh. Where will we end up? It's crazy! I've also communicated to the parents that, from this moment on, I have zero tolerance for such behavioral deviations. And I really won't enroll the team in the championship if there is one more episode in which the parents cross the border of the supporter and reach the area of fanaticism.
Why should I keep the team? For adults to fight each other? I don't need that! The team is for the children, for their development, not for the parents to swear, rant and lash out in front of the hall, under the eyes of the little ones”.
