“Clear penalty, VAR didn't work!”

Raul Rusescu (37 years old) believes that FCSB should have received a penalty in the second half a match with Bologna (1-2)in the phase in which Bîrligea was pushed by Vitik.
At the score of 1-2, in the second half, FCSB carried out a dangerous action in the opponent's half. In the penalty area of the Italians, Bîrligea tried to make the ball for the shot, but fell when Martin Vitik gave him a leg, pushing him with both arms.

The rookie of the champion asked for a penalty, but the Latvian “central” Andris Treimanis did not agree. Even his colleagues in the VAR room, the Dutch Jeroen Manschot and the Latvian Kristaps Ratnieks, did not consider that there were penalty circumstances, so that they called him to the sideline to review the phase.
Raul Rusescu feels that FCSB should have received a penalty: “No doubt! It seems VAR didn't work”
Raul Rusescu believes that the referee made a mistake. The double-champion is convinced that it was necessary to sanction the defender of the guests!
“Clear penalty! No doubt. No doubt! I don't understand, it didn't even go… It's a clear penalty! If I pass the ball in front of you and you push me? Doesn't the intensity matter! If you pushed me? The VAR did not work at this stage. It didn't work on many phases.
That was a clear penalty and we might have left with a 2-2, happy because we would have drawn with a superior opponent to us. It was superior, but we could get a point,” commented the double-champion with FCSB, during the GSP Live Special show.
Daniel Bîrligea: “100% penalty!”
The person involved in that phase, Daniel Bîrligea, commented on the same note in the flash interview given to PrimaSport:
“I think it was 100% penalty! You can't have a defender put two hands on you and push you in the chest, but the referee didn't want to check.
At the end of the match, we asked for respect for our team, but in Europe VAR and refereeing don't really help us. It is possible that we are used to refereeing in Romania, other referees let the game continue”.
