Chaos at airports in Portugal

Chaos in Portuguese airports is visible mainly in airport corridors, manifesting itself in long queues at passport control.
— We, taxi drivers, also feel this situation indirectly. For several days now, customers ordering a trip to the airport have been asking about the travel time to the airport, pressing to leave long before the time or rushing while driving in the city, Lisbon taxi driver Antonio Monteiro told PAP.
The Polish Embassy in Lisbon also warned against chaos in connection with the implementation of the EES system. She pointed to the airport in this city as the most sensitive.
“Travellers arriving in Lisbon from outside the Schengen area should expect extended waiting times for passport clearance,” said the Polish diplomatic mission.
The EES system concerns border management, enabling the registration of citizens of countries outside the European Union going for a short stay within its territory. Since October 12, they have been registered every time they cross the external borders of 29 European countries. The implementation of the new system is expected to last 6 months.
