The racket that Carlos Alcaraz (22, 1 ATP) used in 2022 at Wimbledon when he won his second career Grand Slam title sold for $173,066, surpassing a record held by the legendary Rafael Nadal.

A racket used by Carlos Alcaraz was sold by Prestige Memorabilia at auction and set a new record for the highest amount of money paid for a tennis racket. The world leader thus surpassed his idol Rafael Nadal.

In 2023, Alcaraz managed to become champion at Wimbledon, after a victory over Novak Djokovic, score 1-6, 7-6 (6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4, and obtained the 2nd Grand Slam title of his career. In 2022, the Spaniard managed to win the title at the US Open.

More than 2 years after the victory in London, the racket Alcaraz used at Wimbledon 2023 was auctioned and sold for $173,066. The identity of the buyer has not been disclosed.

Thanks to this sale, the 22-year-old sportsman broke a record held by Nadal. Specifically, this summer, the racket with which the “matador” won Roland Garros in 2017 was sold for $157,000.

Also, the racket that Nadal used at the 2022 Australian Open sold for $139,700.
