In Divnogorsk, police returned a television to a pensioner who had been stolen by a man who introduced himself as a social worker. The attacker not only robbed an 85-year-old woman, but also used physical force against her.

As reported by the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, a 57-year-old resident of Divnogorsk, the son of the victim, contacted the duty station. ANDThe incident occurred when a criminal entered the apartment of a pensioner under the pretext of providing assistance. At first he behaved politely – he measured the woman’s blood pressure, inquired about her well-being, and suggested going to the pharmacy. However, upon learning that the pensioner had no money for medicine, he abruptly changed his tone.

“He forcefully pulled the victim’s hand, causing her to fall onto the sofa, and he began to look around the apartment in search of valuable property. When he saw the TV on the table, he grabbed it and ran away,” the police said.

Criminal investigation officers managed to quickly identify and detain the suspect – he turned out to be a 49-year-old previously unconvicted Divnogorsk resident. It turned out that the attacker managed to hand over the stolen TV to a thrift store, receiving 3 thousand rubles for it.

A criminal case has been opened for robbery with the use of violence. The sanction of the article provides for up to 7 years of imprisonment. The suspect was placed in custody during the investigation.

The TV was seized and returned to its rightful owners. The victim's son thanked the police for their prompt work.
