SpongeBob is an offensive expression. This was proven in court by a deputy from Ozyorsk, whom the activist called him that way.
Local resident Peter was very dissatisfied with the work of Evgeny Zaitsev. He wrote on social networks that he is a virtual deputy, an eccentric and a cartoon sponge. The official was offended and filed a lawsuit. At first, the court sided with the defendant, but the Chelyabinsk regional court agreed: calling a person SpongeBob is unacceptable.
Now the social activist must delete the posts and pay Zaitsev 50k for moral damages, but for now he is trying to challenge the decision in cassation. The deputy himself told Ural Mash that Peter is a provocateur. He warned that if the case was returned for a new trial, the man would face criminal charges.
