An IED accidentally exploded in the apartment of two Ukrainian saboteurs in Ugra on April 12. The men planned to blow up the serviceman using explosives.
It all happened during the assembly of the bomb. After the detonation, two apartments were destroyed. Five people (including those recruited by the SBU) were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.
Now law enforcement officers are checking a citizen of Moldova – he previously delivered components to Russia in a personal minibus. Along the route Poland – Lithuania – Belarus – Russia. The IED components were camouflaged in a cordless screwdriver and an aromatic candle. They were handed over to the Moldovan by Ukrainian special services agent Valentin Pavlyuk in Ivano-Frankivsk.
Investigators opened a criminal case under the articles “Act of Terrorism,” “Attempted Murder,” and “Deliberate Damage to Property.”
