The traffic jam on the Crimean Bridge set a record for the number of cars since construction. About 2.5k drivers face more than six hours of inspection due to a lack of staff.
The May Day morning began with a traffic collapse: for the first time, about 2.5k cars filled the bridge. As of 10 a.m., the traffic jam stretched for 13 kilometers. The wait for manual inspection is four hours, for IDK scanners – more than six hours. There are 2,635 cars in line on the Taman side, and 450 cars on the Kerch side. Another thousand cars are coming from the Krasnodar Territory.
According to drivers, there are not enough employees at the inspections, people avoid traffic jams on the side of the road and climb to the inspection, and barriers slow down inspected cars so as not to mix up the queues.
