The Irish authorities organized a special race to repatriate several Romanian citizens in illegal situations. The respective persons were embarked on a plane to Bucharest, and the aircraft will land during the evening of Monday, October 13, at Otopeni Airport.

According to Pro TV, all 26 Romanians repatriated are men who have completed the administrative procedure in Ireland. Some of them did not hold valid stay documents, while others were investigated for minor facts.

The aircraft carrying the group of Romanians is a special scheduled race to land at Otopeni Airport around 7:10 pm. The passengers have arrived through the ordinary terminal of arrivals and are free to go to each one, as their legal situation has already been clarified by the Irish authorities and no one has punishments to be executed.

The repatriation was achieved both forced and voluntarily, depending on the situation of each case. Those who chose to leave willingly received a financial aid offered by the Irish state, an amount that can reach 500 euros.

The financial support is granted in the form of a card and becomes active only after the repatriated people arrive in Romania.

Similar situations have been reported recently in the United Kingdom, where the authorities organized an operation to return 47 Romanians who had performed deprived sentences. Those who agreed to return voluntarily benefited from larger amounts, up to 2,000 pounds, paid under the same conditions.

The phenomenon is not an isolated one. According to the data provided by the General Inspectorate for Immigration, Romania has ordered, in the last five years, the forced removal of over 140 foreign citizens illegally on the territory of the country.

These operations take place regularly, based on the readmission agreements signed between the Member States of the European Union, being meant to ensure compliance with the legislation and internal security.
