The Ukrainian counter-offensive has made progress in both the southern region of Zaporojie and in an area of the Donetk region, the central point of the conflict, where Kiev has brought success, said Ukrainian president Volodimir Zelenski, reports News.ro citing Reuters.

Kiev has been claiming for a few weeks that his forces have advanced around the city of Dobropillia-near the Pokrovsk logistics center, one of the key targets of the Russian troops that slowly advance to the west through the Donetk region.

In his video address to the nation on Sunday evening, Zelenski said that the forces of Kiev have submitted more than 3 km to the south in the Zaporojie region. “At this moment, the Ukrainian units continue the counter -offensive actions near the city of Dobropillia, but also in other sectors, especially in the Zaporojie region, near Orchiv,” he said. “There, our forces advanced – today with over 3 km,” said the Ukrainian leader.

The 24 separate assault battalion of the Ukrainian army posted on the Telegram messenger application that, together with another unit, it took control over the village of Mali Şcerbakî, located between Orihiv and the Dnieper River.

Ukraine and Russia, contradictory stories about the situation on the front

The report of the Russian Russian Defense Ministry does not refer to the Ukrainian advances or the fact that Mali Şcerbaki would have undergone Ukrainian control.

Instead, Moscow states that his troops hit Ukrainian troops and equipment in the Zaporojie region, including in the village of Novoandrivka, near the villages Mali Şcerbakî and Orihiv.

In the last week, Ukraine and Russia have issued contradictory stories about the situation on the front line in the war that lasts for more than three and a half years. The front line covers a length of 1,250 km.

Vladimir Putin told senior officers last week that Moscow forces captured 5,000 square km this year and have the strategic advantage in all sectors of the front line.

A day later, Zelenski said that Ukrainian forces caused heavy losses to Russian troops near Dobropillia and that they “defend themselves” in all other directions.
