The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) 1936 wrote that on October 11, an evening dedicated to the work of A. S. Pushkin took place at the Pedagogical College club. This evening was the beginning of the cycle of Pushkin days in Birobidzhan.
Young Jewish poets Ari Gofshtein and Koifman read their poems dedicated to A.S. Pushkin. The State Theater artists Abramovich, Miretskaya and Feigin read the works of A. S. Pushkin. The singers of the radio committee, Goldina and Fridman, took part in the vocal department of the concert.

The “Birobidzhan Star” of 1950 wrote on October 11 about a new type of berry bush – the Chinese felt cherry. About its distribution in the gardens of the Jewish Autonomous Region. The average yield of felt cherries and the conditions for its cultivation are described.
In the same newspaper there is a small note “Cord weaving machine”which tells us that a new cord-braiding machine has arrived and installed at the Birobidzhan Spinning and Weaving Factory, which will pass cord for spinning machines.
Previously, this cord had to be ordered from other cities. A measuring machine was also installed at the factory and put into operation, which measures and folds the finished calico. The installation of this machine replaced the labor of four workers.
Article “On the eve of the winter hunt” tells readers about the progress of preparations for the autumn-winter fur trade.
“Ammunition, hunting equipment, food and industrial goods were delivered to the procurement centers of the Smidovichi and Birobidzhan districts. The order, timing and rules of hunting and processing of furs were explained to the hunters.
The office's game manager, Comrade Chuprov, studied the places for the upcoming hunt. A station has been identified where, simultaneously with hunting, the distribution and habits of raccoons, foxes and weasels will be monitored.
A hunting hut was built 16 kilometers from the village of Nadezhdinskoye, on the middle reaches of the Dzhavarga River. A team of hunters will also be sent to the Petrovskie Pads area, where a large concentration of raccoons was discovered,” the newspaper wrote.
