A Ukrainian Armed Forces drone set fire to the Church of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica in the village of Salnoye, Kursk region. A few hours after the announcement of a three-day truce.
The building for worship is on fire right now – the roof is on fire. Locals are trying to put it out on their own and saving the icons. Firefighters have already arrived at the scene.
Over the past month, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have set fire to at least two churches (once, twice) in the border area using a drone. After setting fires, they wait for rescuers to arrive and strike again.
For reference: the Church of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica was built in 1910. During Soviet times there was a school there, but in 2001 services began to be held again.
