The national of the ivory coast managed Friday the score of the day in the preliminaries of the 2026 World Championship, in the African qualifications, managing to win the game against Seychelles. Despite the crushing victory, the “elephants” have not yet obtained the tickets for the final tournament next summer, after Gabon won at the limit with Gambia, score 4-3, and everything will be decided in the last stage.
The representative of the ivory coast did not give any chance to the representative in Seychelles, in a match that was played at Saint Pierre, at Côte d'O or National Sports Complex.
The confrontation in the round with the number 9 was without history, the ivory coast was destroyed in the company of the last ranking, a team that had not even succeeded in the first 8 matches and which had an incredible goal, 2-39.

The difference in the goal chapter for Seychelles has gained even greater proportions after the Friday dispute, the ivory coast winning without emotions, score 7-0, the “elephants” keeping their intact gate and after the ninth of qualifications and now having a 22-0 goal.
The Friday match started perfectly for the ivory coast that scored the first goal in the penalty, in the 7th minute. In the 17th minute, the “elephants” doubled their advantage, and until the break the score became 4-0. In the second part, other goals were registered, the last in the 90th minute.
With 23 points after 9 rounds, the ivory coast is a leader in the group F ranking, at a point behind the Gabon national, with a stage before the end, so everything will be decided at the last match. Only the first team qualifies directly at the 2026 World Championship.
On October 14, from 10:00 pm, the ivory coast will play with Kenya, and Gabon, from the same hour, with Burundi.
The match was played next to the palm trees
The Friday confrontation was played on a stadium located near the street, behind the gate being a bridge and cars that were constantly traveling, along the party. Besides the bridge, the nearby palm trees also attracted attention.
The stadium is part of a sports complex located on a 19 hectare land, inaugurated in July 2019.
