We have a great boom for car rental


This is a large increase compared to the previous year, when 37 percent respondents declared using such a service – we read in the analysis.
The reasons for renting are diverse – from a replacement car during the service, through testing a given model before buying, to various types of trips.
Who rents cars in Poland?
The second edition of the SIXT Polska report “Car on its own terms” shows that car rental is becoming more and more common. Most often, people aged 25–39 reach for it – already 73 percent. of them have such experience, which means an increase of 27 percentage points year on year.
This option remains particularly popular among respondents from large cities over 200,000 residents, where 72 percent used it. respondents. However, it is not limited to agglomeration – a clear growth can also be seen in rural areas and in smaller towns. While a year ago, the percentage of users was only 36-37 percent there, today it reaches 62-64 percent.
Most often we rent a car for holidays – it is vacation trips that indicated 45 percent. respondents. Immediately after them, a more mundane reason appears: almost four out of ten drivers (39 percent) reaches for a replacement car when their own is on the site. Rental also turns out to be a convenient solution for short trips outside the city, weekend trips or spontaneous trips (30 percent), as well as for special occasions such as weddings, parties or removals (28 percent). For over every fifth respondent (21 percent) it is also an opportunity to test the car before buying, and for some people – especially in the context of professional duties – the possibility of practical support during delegation (16 percent).
“Although men are more often renting cars, women clearly treat rental more often as a complement to travel and daily mobility. For Polish women, the main motivation is trips – they are more likely to book cars on vacation (48 percent of women vs. 44 percent of men), short journeys (34 percent of the ladies vs. 27 percent of men) or unique events (33 % percentage of respondents).
