Near the village of Ayangat discovered an ancient stele 97 cm high, the press service of the National Museum of Tuva reports.

The artifact was found in the town of Kuragaadir next to the village of Ayangata. The stele was discovered near the Chaban parking lot during the construction of the road. The find was sent to the National Museum of Tuva. At the moment, it is digitized and included in the fund.

“In the Soviet years, the stele was probably moved when plowing lands and buried under a layer of soil. Its re -opening occurred during the construction of the road to the Chaban parking lot, where the stone lay for centuries and kept its secrets, ”the museum explained.

On each of the four faces, ancient runes were found. They are engaged in translation at the National Museum and the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is believed that the find will help expand the horizons of the study of Turkic languages.

“The parts of the decor that are not found on other runic monuments are unique, in addition, a camel is knocked out at the bottom. The combination of standard runic signs with unique symbols raises the question of possible dialect variations of the ancient Turkic language, ”the museum said.
