President Nicușor Dan now holds press statements after participating in the Public Conference “Europe at the crossroads, security, prosperity and our common future” that took place today in Timisoara.

You said publicly that you will desecretize the CSAT meeting and the documents that led to the cancellation of the elections. When will you do?
I read the whole file. More important is that compared to November 2024 we have many more elements and context and specific. There are different reports of some European countries that say that for them it is a level of records that there is a hybrid war that Russia leads to Europe, including Romania. With two goals – to influence to have a friendly leadership or to amplify the fears of society and to destabilize them. I really liked the general prosecutor's report. We had an external funding component a sample – that million euros from Peșchir. On the destabilization component I had the component on the potra group. I had until the report of the Prosecutor's Office, a proof that Russia interfered with advertising in the election campaign. We have proof that there were several sites where Russia's advertising companies were used. It is a fact revealed by the General Prosecutor's Office. We do not have the full image at the moment. We probably need a few months. When I have the full image I will go out public.

Students from all over the country went out to ask for scholarships. What is the plan for them?
We must separate what is short -term with what is in the medium and long term. Romania was in a difficult situation in which the risk was very high on the downgrade side of the rating agency and withdrawal and more money, rates and interest. The government has taken action. In any case there was an imperative to reduce the deficit in a very short time. We will make an evaluation and we have to think about the long average university and pre -university plane.

What Nicușor Dan does in Timișoara

Prior to the Security Conference, President Nicușor Dan participated in Timișoara Cities Summit, a meeting organized by Dominic Fritz, in which the participants – mayors and European officials – discuss the future of the European Union and the role of cities in its expansion.

Taking the word at the event, Dan said that Romania was unprepared, 20 years ago, to enter the European Union, but the decision was correct, which can be seen in the progress made by our country.

“If we want to be very direct, 20 years ago, when Romania ended the accession process, I think Romania was not prepared to enter the European Union, and I think neither Bulgaria. But the decision to enter was a correct decision that the European Union made and we see today the progress that, after 18 years after the effective accession, Romania said, Summit.

Nicușor Dan suggested that, in the context of the geopolitical competition, the EU could re -evaluate the degree of demand imposed on the candidate countries, pointing out that a topic of debate is “how high the pole must be raised.”
