Former International English and Analyst Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher, thinks that his bosses Manchester United should be separated from Lusitan Ruben Amorim because of disappointing results.
According to him, for the “red devils” it is not too late to find an adequate coach and qualify in next year's European competitions. Amorim has only 34 points in his first 33 matches with Manchester United in the Premier League, and the last defeat was 1-3 in Bournemouth.
Jamie Carragher no longer believes in the future of Ruben Amorim at United
“Manchester United's leadership has made so many mistakes that he doesn't want to recognize this one. That's why Amorim is still in office,” Carragher said during the Monday Night Football show, quoted by Sky Sports.
“His mandate at Manchester United is tragic. Amorim did a fantastic job at Sporting Lisbon and it seemed the next big name in the coach's job, but his game system simply does not fit this club. Manchester United has traditions,” the former defender who wrote history for the Liverpool rival continued.
“The faster I make the decision to dismiss it, the better for them. As I said, what is happening is a complete tragedy for both the club and the coach. We simply expect the inevitable. No one wants to see people losing their jobs, but this must end as soon as possible,” Carrag.
“I do not say that they should change their vision. There are many coaches that change the system, but not the style of play. This is his creation. It is as if you put Jurgen Klopp not to press or to Pep Guardiola not to pass the ball in the middle of the field.
They brought him and had all the information in the world. Amorim's problem is that any other Premier League coach looks at what is happening and tells he would do better, “he added.
“A competent coach can lead them to European competitions”
United brought players in attack for about 200 million pounds (the equivalent of 228,922,871 euros), including Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko. Carragher said that a lot of money was spent for transfers in the Portuguese mandate.
“The only positive thing is that Manchester United has not yet relied on the system of Amorim. Yes, they spent a lot of money, but at least they did not bring a lot of central defenders and side midfielders. The new players can be easily converted into a defensive line of four, Bruno Fernandes like Playmaker, Mbeumo on the right, on the right can lead to European competitions ”.
“It could not be a harder situation and I'm sorry for him. Amorim is a young trainer and had a fantastic career start. What he did at Sporting Lisbon was special, and the results were incredible. It is unpleasant for someone to lose their job, but I think it would be best for everyone.
