The parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova, held on September 28, ended with a clear victory for the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), led by Maia Sandu, who obtained 50.16% of the votes, after counting 90.91% of the bulletins, while the pro-Russian parties recorded weak scores.
The defeat was strongly felt by Igor Dodon, the leader of the patriotic block (24.19% of the votes) and former president of the Republic of Moldova, who immediately announced the organization of a “peaceful” protest, accusing irregularities in the electoral process and “involvement of the West” in the campaign, through NGOs supported by the European Commission.
Commenting on the situation, the newspaper Cristian Tudor Popescu wrote on Facebook Monday, September 29, an ironic message to Igor Dodon and his call to demonstrations.
“How to hear the shame in Chisinau
“Under the coat of arms with the Red Star, the harvest and the hammer, the little man of Putin, Dodon, came out last night with a few comrades:” The Russians! notes the newspaper Monday, September 29, on Facebook, using a word game.
We remind you that former President Igor Dodon, leader of the patriotic block, complained several irregularities in the country and in the Diaspora, asking the law enforcement bodies and invited political groups and civil society to participate in Monday, September 29, “for” Democracy's defense “.
Regarding the protest in Chisinau, the police in the Republic of Moldova has already issued a statement informing that people have been promised money to participate in demonstrations, which represents a serious violation of the legislation.
The Moldovan press speaks of 150 euros of participant, plus “a bonus” of another 50 euros for those who bring other people.
