The illegal market “Ovorpika” in Russia reached 1.5 billion rubles a year
For the period from January to October 2024, Ovorpik was illegally in Russia in the amount of 1 to 1.5 billion rubles, the media reported. The official sales of the drug of the Danish company Novo Nordisk for the same period amounted to only 562.8 million rubles.
Novo Nordisk put the last batch of Oppicked in Russia in December 2023, after which the export was stopped. The market occupied the Russian analogues of the drug, but many consumers prefer the original.
Therefore, illegal suppliers purchase it in Turkey, the UAE and the EU countries – supposedly for personal use – and then transport it to Russia for resale. In this case, the drug is sold without checks, through small pharmacy networks and private traders.
