The duty on export of scrap to Turkey will remain after the ratification of the Free Trade Area Agreement, Media.

The People's Deputy Dmitry Kysilevsky reported about it. According to him, at a meeting on the Verkhovna Rada Committee discussed the impact of FTA on metallurgy and the importance of storing duties to provide Ukrainian enterprises with raw materials. Turkey is one of the main areas of export of Ukrainian scrap.

“There is now 180 euros in Ukraine, which extends to all countries except the EU. And this will continue to act on deliveries to Turkey, in particular after signing the agreement. The relevant rules are contained in the text of the agreement. The same position was voiced by the trade representative of Ukraine – Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Kachka, ”Kysilevsky stated.
And he summarized: so a duty of 180 euros for export of scrap to Turkey will continue to operate and after the possible ratification of the agreement with Turkey. Official clarification will be prepared about this, especially customs officers, who, for scrap, show something opposite to their main function – fill the state budget.

The FTA Agreement between Ukraine and Turkey was signed on February 3, 2022 after 12 rounds of negotiations. It will come into force after ratification of the parliaments of both countries.
