Der Spiegel suggests that the drones in Poland are part of the strategy, the purpose of which is to check how NATO will respond to provocations. The author draws attention to that although the Russian Federation is fighting against Ukraine, the war may spread into the territory of NATO.
Kurbuvayit recalled that before the Second World War, the Nazis held a series of provocations and invaded the demilitarized Rhine region (a former education on the territory of present -day Germany, where Adolf Hitler sent a small number of his troops, checking how they would react, in particular France), after which the Germans annexed the Sudeten region (region, which used to exist in Czech Republic) and included Austria.
The countries of the West, instead of a quick reaction, showed “only indecision, timidity and reconciliation”, which became one of the reasons that Hitler and his minions decided to start a war against Poland, which was the beginning of the Second World War.
Der Spiegel believes that today's West, in order not to repeat mistakes from history, one should “react for sure, show determination without bending the stick.” According to the author of the publication, while “everything looks good”: there are “strong words”, joint consultations and “adequate measures” such as calling Russian ambassadors.
Media concludes that only the “combination of skillful diplomacy and military determination” can prevent a big war in Europe.
