Fis Ski Jumping Summer Grand Prix, a stage dominated by Japanese athletes
Daniela Toth, Mihnea Spulber and Daniel Cacina, promising results in Râșnov
Even though they did not rank on the podium, the Romanian athletes have achieved the best results in history. Daniela Toth (Haralambie) finished on Saturday 13th and Sunday, Mihnea Spulber ranked 13th, and Daniel Cacina was twice in the top 20: 18th (Saturday) and 20th place (Sunday).
“I felt an incredible energy in front of the public at home. To succeed in the best result in the career in Râșnov is a huge joy. These results give me confidence that I can get even more and approach my dream: a best result at the Olympic Games,” said Daniela Toth.
“It was a day I will not forget. I am extremely proud of this result – the best in my career and, at the same time, the best performance of a Romanian athlete, in the male, in a World Cup stage. It is an achievement I dreamed of and for which I worked enormously. I think this step shows that we are on the right track and that Romania can have a say in ski jumps worldwide, ”said Mihnea Spulber.
Also, Daniel Cacina highlighted his individual progress, but also that of the Romanian team.
“We were witnesses to a historical moment for ski jumps in Romania. The performances of Daniel Toth, Mihnea Spulber and Daniel Cacina confirm the huge work done by athletes and coaches, but also the support we enjoyed from the authorities and partners. The 7th place obtained by Daniela Toth is the best result in the history of our participation in the World Cup, and the evolutions of Mihnea and Daniel demonstrate that we have a solid team, able to fight for results at the 2026 Winter Games”, Concluded Puiu Gaspar, president of the Romanian Biathlon ski federation.
