Strong explosion in a local in Madrid. At least 25 injured, three of whom in serious condition

At least 25 people were injured, three of them seriously, following an explosion produced on Saturday afternoon, September 13, in a place in Madrid.

The deflagration produced around 3:00 pm, on Manuel Maroto street, and affected both the premises and the housing building above it, as well as a bar in the immediate vicinity, reports Pais, citing the Spanish authorities.
Part of the adjacent portal and one of the bar walls collapsed, which initially created confusion about the exact place of the explosion.
On the spot, 13 crews of civil protection, 17 fire crews and several emergency medical units intervened. The police completely blocked Manuel Maroto street, and the agents began to redirect traffic.
Firefighters continue to work for the release of the rubble, while the medical teams transported the wounded to the hospitals in the area. According to the authorities, the cause of the explosion is to be established, but the first data indicates a possible accumulation of gas.
According to a first information of the emergency services, the initial balance indicated 14 injured, but their number increased as the intervention teams identified several victims.
